Candelabra Love?

Evidence of a very well used candelabra in the entrance of Lindonis's Italian Restaurant on the very tres chic and fashionable Hastings Street, at Noosa.

Love it or hate it?

On another note, I am back home now from a few days away, and looks like there is a lot of blogging for me to catch up on with posts to read and comments to make. Not that I am addicted to blogging or anything!!

Lapping it up?

Hubby has whisked me away for another two days away. This time we are lapping it up on the Noosa River. There is an ulterior motive here, that I was rather quick to suss out and I will share with you. He has this insane idea that we should get away more and go camping!

In the million dollar Winnebago, the luxurious motorhome or even a campervan I hear you ask?

No, not even near,...in a tent...hubby has bought a tent with all the best accessories and is convinced I will love camping as much as he does. Mid life crisis after mid life crisis - I am wondering if there is such a thing!

I have to say, we are in a beautiful spot on the Noosa River and the outlook is superb as you can see from the photos. The romance of the gondolas in the evening to the lone pelican - romance, romance did I say romance? Not falling for it am I?

The third photo was taken last night when a leaf dropped on my head...don't laugh! I picked it up and noticed that it had two holes in it and I used it as a frame for the photo. Too much time on my hands in an idyllic setting?

Market Find Today.

I couldn't leave this behind on the market seller's table this morning! It is a really tiny plate, about 3 inches in diameter.

The words say it all..and so do the red roses.

Escaping to the Beach

A spur of the moment decision to escape to the beach for a few days lead us to the Northern New South Wales Coast. Not the most brilliant weather for the beach but we are making the most of it and enjoying the very lush rainforest in the hinterland, and exploring the gorgeous towns of Yuki, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah.

Surf Lifesaver Caps hanging in Kingscliffe Surf Club

Blogging from the beach at Kingscliff this morning, I received a really nice email from my lovely NZ blogging friend Shane from Roses Lace and Brocante thanking me for my soaps that she ordered from my Madeit store.

Shane has a lovely blog, a lover of all things French and has family living in France. She is also a very creative in her crafty pursuits. I have been following her blog for a while now you, can check it out  here

Thanks Shane, for being my first customer to order my soap. It is exciting to think that my soap has been sent to a customer in Auckland all through the power of blogging.

Thrifty Tuesday Finds

The famous stylised lily, the Fleur Di Lis design in chunky gold metal curtain ends. I have to do something with them. We don't have curtains in the house (we have internal shutters) so using them for what they were intended will not be on the cards. It's all about recycling and repurposing, right!!

Initially, I thought I would get the backs cut off and use them as bookends but I think I am looking for something more stunning, now that bookends sound the obvious and a tad boring to me, so I am hoping all my creative blogging friends will have some ideas. Heeeelp! I haven't come up with anything else yet. Oh and they cost $2 for the five of them at the charity store.

Pieces of cotton gingham I picked up for $1 at the Chandler Market on Sunday.

A French blue enamel ladle also from Chandler Market for $3.00.

I am linking once again with Thrifty Tuesday Finds with Anna at Cornflake

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

My Sunday

My Sunday so far has consisted of an early morning at Chandler Markets, and cleaning out the garage! I did come across these vintage inspired French postcards I had tucked away and forgotten about though. Aren't they delightful?

I love the second one in particular as it reminds me of my sister-in-law who loves to clean. She has been known to confess on one occasion, after a couple of wines, that 'she is at her happiest whilst cleaning.'

When I am cleaning, I certainly don't have the happy vibes going on like the young lady in the second postcard. Maybe a heart shaped mop like hers may make the difference!

How about you?

Crafty

I just can't believe how fast these weeks are flying by! This week for me has been so busy but I have managed to sew up a few more bags for new batches of soap that have just cured. I always ensure that I use a bar of soap from each batch to make sure it is just right and these new batches are heaven! I am really pleased with them.

I need more room in my crafting area so I really need to use up my fabric collection which I know will take a while. (sigh...as I look around me!..but then if I use it all up it will be instinctively replaced, of that I am sure)...but, I am having fun and I am loving sewing and embellishing these bags.

I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. I used to make my own clothes as a teenager as I could never find exactly what I wanted. I used to sew childrens' clothes and sell them at the markets when my children were small and young enough to be my models without a word of protest.

My passion for sewing has now been re-ignited in the past few months, so has my love of embroidery and crochet.

You never know what may be listed on my online shop !

I have a few pieces of art from Mornington Peninsula's brilliant artist Gail McCormack. You can find Gail's blog here.

...and from Pink from Toowoomba when I visited nearly two weeks ago, just after the carnival of flowers...

Thrifty Tuesday Finds

I picked up these three vintage pressed glass plates a little while ago for about $1.50 each.  I have since seen them at other Thrift Stores for significantly more. Obviously it depends on which store you shop at!

The have little glass legs on them which I think makes them look very classy. I have put them on my dressing table (sorry hubby your space is over there...) and I love the way they look. There is no room in my bathroom for beautiful perfume bottles and I wanted to be reminded that it was time to travel to Paris and buy more supplies! Mmmmmm.... What more inspiration could I want! As you can see the levels of substance in the Chanel and Joy bottles are highly compromised, as is a trip to Paris I fear.

I am linking up with Anna from Cornflake for Thrifty Tuesday Finds. Pop across to her blog to check out what others have found.
