Escape to Spring Bluff...

Escaped from the dreary rain in Brisbane today and headed west to Toowoomba for the day. For my overseas readers, Toowoomba is about 110kms West of Brisbane CBD.

Would you believe it - blue skies and sunshine? Well worth the effort!

We missed the Carnival of Flowers yet again - we always try and remember to go but never quite get there or remember for that matter! The parks and gardens in Toowoomba are still full of fabulous flowers though.

However, while exploring the valleys tucked in the North of Toowoomba we managed to stumble upon Spring Bluff Railway Station again. Have you ever been there?

The coffee shop is the Old Station Masters Quarters and well worth a stop for a beaut cup of coffee and the obligatory snack to help you on your journey.

The only time this station is working is in September for the Carnival. Steam train rides are available to and from Toowoomba CBD.

The flowers at this time of year are stunning and well worth a visit.

The picnic area adjacent to the station is in a semi tropical area, lush and green and heaps of room for the kiddos.

It was great to be dry today and see the blue sky.

Yes, such a dreary day in Bris. I cannot believe that I have never visited this town yet, and I've lived here for over 15 years. Great pics, now I've definately put it on my 'to do' list.
Fingers crossed for a sunny day tomorrow!
