Finding it difficult to blog with the recent devastation in Brisbane, the city I love and I live in...
... but there is a window of hope...
people are reaching out to each other...
neighbours...
friends...
family...
complete strangers...
volunteers...
and everyone else
volunteers...
and everyone else
The whole world is watching us as we begin to grieve, along with the other fellow Australians and other countries...
and their flooding,...
their fires...
and their tragedies...
As our flood waters recede, we will re-build ourselves, we will clean up our towns and cities.
For myself, I have registered for some volunteer welfare work, so I can contribute in some small way to supporting my friends who I have never met.

Hi Pam,
I continue to be dismayed at the images we are seeing on t.v. in regard to the flooding in Queensland and now New South Wales and Victoria. My thoughts are with you and all Queenslanders and flood affected people who will have the very long and difficult task of cleaning up and rebuilding homes, business and lives.
I am equally amazed, delighted and encouraged by the human spirit of co-operation, selflessness, encouragement and help being offered by neighbours, strangers, emergency services, the police, the army and volunteers. There will be other people who are quietly going about helping where they can without wanting any recognition or fuss made and they are to be admired and appreciated too.
Our thoughts are with you and we are doing what we can from afar.
Take care Pam. Sending love to you and yours,
Anne xx
Oh Pam my heart is with you up there....I know a LOT of us wish we could 'down tools' & come up & help clear the mud & the rubbish away....Donations of money & 'stuff' is one thing but sometimes the very act of a helping hand reaching out is really what it's all about....I WISH I could be there with you....!
Please keep us posted....!
Cheers from VIC,
Tamarah :o)
Dear Pam
Oh this has been devistating - I didn't realise the enormity of it until I saw Sky news.
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you all and hoping that the worst is over.
It's so amazing how people pull together in these horrific circumstances.
Take care

It is so very hard. I have lost all my passion at present. I cannot even sit down at my sewing machine and sew. I feel nothing. I dont know what to do. It's just so terrible. I have registered with the RSPCA for any fostering required. I have donated. But I just feel so terrible ...still.
Pam, great news to hear that you've registered to volunteer. I'm sure there will be lots to do for a long time but it's important we stick together and get stuck into it!!!!
Who know perhaps we might even end up at the same spot together :)
Keep safe xoxox
Heartfelt prayers and thoughts from Guatemala. We may not be in the same country, but we are brothers and sisters in this one planet. A helping hand, and the attitude of togetherness is priceless, and something we come to value for a lifetime.
strong hugs,
Claudia
Hello Pam...Thank you for visiting 24C...so many are thinking of you all...and can't believe what is happening there. It's so nice that you're going to volunteer...I wish I lived closer to do the same.
Take care...

Its great to see so many people volunteering in our wonderful city! Very heartwarming amidst so much tragedy.
Pam, thank you for visiting me at Just Me and My Shadow. It certainly is great to see so many people willing to help. My son is with the SES who do such a great job. I have shed many tears watching the devastation the floods has brought to our State and hope you have been spared from the damage.
Chrissie
