Opened the shutters this morning and the sun was streaming in the lounge just catching my new thrifty silver purchases from the weekend.
Doing a bit of research, I found out that this teapot is called a 'bedroom' teapot .One for the tea in bed I gather. I would have called this a coffee pot myself - shows you how much I know about silver! It is a vintage Kenson silverplate EPNS A1 'bedroom' teapot with a matching Kenson pedestal tray. The funny part is I bought them from two different thrift stores and they have the same pattern - bunches of grapes.
I don't usually see any silver in thrift stores but it was my lucky day and both for under $15 I was happy. They are in beautiful condition, and with a bit of polishing up now and again they are looking shiny and fab.
Do you have any silver in your home?
The roses are from a climbing rose that just opened this morning. They have the most sweetest velvet-like petals in the richest red. I have no idea of the name, but in response to a few emails requesting the name of the rose in my previous post I can tell you it is a fragrant Hybrid Tea rose called 'Eiffel Tower'
Here's to a Very Happy Monday and a Happy week!

The rose is really pretty and has the perfect name. No I don't have any silver. Yours is lovely, and fancy finding the two pieces seperately.
Cheers,

Great thrifting Pam, you know I love a bit of silver here and there. You have done very well with your 'bedroom' teapot and lucky to match tray. Well done! ;-)
your pretty finds look lovely with those stunning roses. i have a few pieces of silver handed down to me from my grandparents- a huge silver mesh food cover, a silver filagree wine holder and a gorgeous silver water jug that i use for displaying flowers. you've got me thinking- i'll have to polish them up and show them off to blogland like you ;)

I would have said that was a coffee pot too!

Great finds Pam. You've done a great job polishing, you must have got a sweat up.

Your teapot is gorgeous and I love the way you have displayed it with the roses. Just beautiful.
I have many pieces of silver inherited from grandparents and some things I've found in antique stores. Nothing too expensive. Actually I might do a little show and tell on my blog of all things silver I have. They'll need a bit of a polish though. I recently showed my silver toast holder now used as a mail holder and the silver water jug which is currently housing blue hydrangeas.
Enjoy your beautiful silverware,
Anne xx
This is SO pretty. It makes me want to polish all of my silver! Wonderful finds!

Hi Pam, gorgeous finds, I particularly like the cake stand. I would be too lazy to clean them though. All my silver pieces are old and tarnished. Tamara x
