Just wanted to share this exquisite piece of embroidery with you. It is a 'tufted' stitch almost like a rug -making stitch, it is very fine and gives a more dimensional look than other needlework. Almost sure it is called a Ghiordes knot, but I could be mistaken.
I am in the middle of going through boxes of things I have collected over the years and listing items in my Ebay store. Things I will never use, or have never used and this embroidery is one of them, sadly to say. The list goes on....
How neat is the back of this embroidery?
Have a wonderful weekend and don't forget to enter my giveaway here !

Goodness, I would be going, to tell the difference between the front and back if you hadn't mentioned it. It's very sweet.
Cheers,

It's so clever and the back is so neat, much better than my front side would be!!
That stitch is so unusual..I don't think I've come across it before; brilliant work and such a sweet pair of subjects.
It's beautiful, lot of work gone into that, could you turn it into a cushion?

Im a bit of a sucker for vintage embroidery and that one is ( as my 4 yr old would say ) a boody!
Beautiful! I must say that I'm a fan now of embroidery, that piece was lovely. The back is as good as the front stitch. The textures are excellent.
