On Saturday Morning our local Retirement Village hosted a Trash and Treasure Market and an Open Day. I have been to a few before and there is always a treasure or two to be found. The ladies are lovely to chat with and keen to show their new items they have crocheted, or jams and jellies they have made.
I found these gorgeous Vintage Hanley plates. Just perfect to use for lunch. Six dinner plates and six side plates for 20 cents each! Bargain.
There was a barometer underneath the tables without a price. So, I asked one of the ladies how much it was and she gave it to me for free as they had just dropped it and one of the hands had fallen off. It didn't matter, as it was immediately appealing to me and it would be easy enough to put a new mechanism in it.
Look where it was made....an added bonus for me as I am a bit of a lover of all things French.
Then it was time to create some more floral loveliness and these florals are what I came up with to add to my ETSY store.

Your cushions are so lovely!
Love the idea of using a candlwick bedspread as a backing for a cushion ;-)) those are very pretty and so are your plates. Have a lovely week, dee x
Found you Pam - glad your hair is looking gorgeous in your profile pic :-)
you really have a passion heh? Beautiful photography too, you should send it to the home mags or to greeting card manufacturers. A great talent!

Oh you lucky thing! Those plates are a steal! I have a dinner sized one in that same pattern that my great aunt gave me - it's gorgeous.

Those plates are gorgeous! What a steal! I love that barometer ... Would it surprise you to know I have a similiar one?! Hee hee... Needless to say I love it! Those cushions are so so pretty! The chenille is super stunning! X
Wow, the plates are lovely so pretty, and what better bargain than 'free' for the barometer! Though I hope you have better luck than me though...I had my Aunts barometer when she died and had new glass fitted, about a month later it fell off the wall and smashed to smithereens :o( I've just kept it in a box as I really can't bear to part with it.
20 cents? You can't buy anything for 20 cents these days not even a lolly! Love what you've found. xx
Why is it that I never find these kinds of amazing bargains?! I need to go shopping with you Pam!
Your cushions are so pretty too. I really don't need any more cushions at my place but if I hear of anyone who does I will be sure to send them to you!
Best wishes and happy week,
Natasha @ 5 Minutes Just for Me.
Delightful plates! I wonder if we could persuade them to add the trash & treasure bit to the open days here?!! X
Would never have thought to use a piece of candlewick bedspread for a cushion, but it works very well. Great idea!
