Changes and a HANDMADE GIVEAWAY

Things have changed.
It is all good...
... but...

I don't have as much time for blogging as I used to.
I don't have as much time for leaving comments.
I don't have as much time to enjoy new blogs.

Suddenly weekends have become very precious again.

On my way to work every day, I have to drive past one of my favourite places...the WAC.
One of my favourite haunts for vintage items.
It is all shut up because it is way too early of course.
There is always, always, always the furtive glances at the window though, as I crawl my way through the traffic.

I love my new job and I am where I am supposed to be, but I have promised myself I will always make time to take photographs and to blog.
For me, it is really important to keep up my creative side and it is also equally important to share this side with all of my lovely followers.
So, I am going to...

Because you have all been so supportive and very welcoming over the last 16 odd months - yes it has been that long - I have decided to give something back. Something I have made myself that I am hoping you will like.

A giveaway...and a choice of two of my vintage style floral cushion covers for two lucky followers. All you have to do is to choose which one that you would want to win and let me know in a comment on this post. Feel free to spread the word and share the vintage love.

This is number one: Vintage chenille with CK Ikea Rosali Fabric Cushion Cover

This is number two: A classic 1950's vibrant red rose fabric Cushion Cover

This giveaway is open to overseas followers.

An insert will be optional for an Aussie winner.
For an overseas winner, I will be posting the cushion cover only, just to keep the postage costs down.

I will draw the winner on Monday evening 5th September. Good luck.

Giveaway has now been extended until Monday 12th September!

I love blogging and will keep it up albeit a bit slower.
Check out Posie's really interesting post about why some of us blog and the challenges of competitive blogging.

So glad everything is OK and you will keep on blogging. I love your posts!
Love your pillows too, both of them actually. I'd love to enter your giveaway but I really can't choose between the two pillows. I love them both, so I'll leave the choice up to you.
I read the post from your friend about competitive blogging. I blog for fun, purely a hobby for me and of course I love it when people leave an honest comment and have something to say or add to one of my posts.
Bye,
Marian

I'm glad you'll keep blogging. It's hard though trying to find the time, and then you also have to find the time to take your beautiful photos.

The weekends are way too short, I've discovered.

Driving past the WAC everyday without being able to drop in, must be extremely frustrating!!

It has been harder for me to blog, too, Pam. Now that the kids have gone back to school it is a little easier, but it seems I have to let go of something else that needs to be done in order to blog. But I do love the connections I have to people and just try a little harder!

The cushions are lovely!! It's hard to pick a favorite!! I do love pastels, so I will say the 1st one is more my style! Lovely job!

XO,
Jane

I'm so glad you've decided to continue blogging - I'll still be following even if you can't post as regular.

Small world - I did a few markets in Canberra when I lived there and had a stall next to Posie!!

Oh Pam, it is hard when you work all week....I find blogging makes me happy but don't have lots of time, so I just try and take it easy and not feel too stressed if I miss some of my friend's posts. I still need time for family and creations! I often catch up with blogs while I watch the kids play or fish at the beach (thanks to my ipad!). Count me IN for the giveaway... I adore that chenille cushion and nearly bought it.... but I could't justify it... I don't need it.... I just LOVE it! X

Hi Pam

Thank you for sharing this post and the link to posy's patchwork. I've been struggling with the blog thing - such a steep learning curve.

I was probably naive when I started. I was doing it for therapy and as a way to meet people who shared my passion for decoration. I soon got caught up in stats and followers. The high you get when someone leaves a nice comment and the hurt when somebody 'unfollows' you.

At first I thought people followed you because they were interested in what you had to share, but I've learnt some people follow you so you'll follow them back, or they follow you but are invisible. You never see them again. I also learnt that some of the big blogs I follow often have very little content. The posts are filled with 'ads' for products/people/blogs and very little original content.

I love your blog. It truly inspires me. The photos are your own. Your content is original and varied. I enjoy seeing everything from a cushion you have sewn to crabs on the beach at Moreton. Keep it up. Find a balance. It should be fun, not a burden.

Even if you only post once a month, know that we will all be here for you.

Cheers
Kylie

Hi Pam
I love them both!!
Good to hear you're liking your new job...I guess not just a new job, but a whole new routine.
Good also to hear you're going to keep your lovely blog up to date, when you can of course, I love the way blogging has become a little more relaxed, doesn't seem to be the pressure element there used to be

Hi Pam! Beautiful blog, and I love your pictures, my goodness, they are just wonderful. I was referred to your blog by Brenda at "It's a Beautiful Life". My name is Delisa and I live in the state of Georgia, U.S. I just had my one year blogging anniversary, I know what you mean, my time blogging and writing has become very special to me too. Congratulations on your new job. I would love to enter your drawing for the pillow. I especially like the first one with the chenile! What a lovely giveaway. I do contests on my blog too sometimes. You are welcome to come over and visit anytime! Have a lovely evening! Delisa :)

The cushions are beautiful. I have yet to see the Rosali fabric in Ikea, sadly. I like number one best, please count me in!
I understand what you mean about having less time for blogging and commenting. I think you just need to do what you can and do your own things too. xx

Gosh, where have I been - I almost missed your gorgeous give away. Please count me in Pam, I love your work and I love that first cushion. I hope you are enjoying your new job and still finding time for some crafts. ;-)

You might recall that I have been in this same quandary a few times but I am just going with the flow and it's working well. I haven't been very good with commenting but I get there in the end! Good on you for doing what you love and enjoying your weekends. That is what life is all about!

Take care, best wishes and happy blogging when you feel like it!
Natasha.

Hi, I just saw your comment over on Delisa's blog. I live in West Virginia, quite a ways from you and we are now entering fall, which is beautiful here. I love your pillows, especially the second one. It kinda reminds me of vintage tablecloths, which I collect. I once made a teddy bear from a beat up old tablecloth. I love making things out of vintage tablecloths and bedspreads, tho I don't have as much time to do that as I used to. It was very hard for me to keep blogging this past summer, it is such a busy time here, but like you, I hung in there. You have a lovely blog and your pictures are beautiful.

your blog is just lovely.....glad you are loving the new job. how lucky you are to be doing what makes you happy. you are a very talented lady. i love the first cushion.....im a sucker for anything vintage really!
its an addiction im sure you understand. Ally :)

Oh how I can relate to the 'no time but still want to blog', and I am now retired and therefore have so much spare time....not! I only run a small business, but with home alterations and family committments I genuinely don't seem to have as much time as when I was at work. I am so glad you will continue with yours, it is beautiful (as is your new guest room). Please enter me in your giveaway, I love both cushion covers and would not mind which I received.

I know what you mean about trying to stay in touch with your creative side. My counsellor says it's a good indication of how things are going in my life.

I hope I'm not too late to enter the competition. I'd love the chenille one if I have the good fortune to win. It would go with so many things in my house. I wouldn't be able to decide between putting it on my bed or lounge chair.

rosenresli said...

Oh Pam,

the chenille pillow is so fantastic - I wish I could make it too. But unfortunately I´m not talented in sewing. I must learn it! Fast!
Today my first crocheted pillow is ready and shown on my blog. But your pillow is so much prettier - I love it.

Have a nice weekend,
Tanja
