A Restless Week

This lovely little fellow jumped out of his teeny tiny nest this week.  He must have been feeling restless and wanted to leave home.

That's how I am feeling at the moment. Completely restless!
I swear I have nomadic blood running through my veins.
Looking at putting the house on the market and buying closer to the city.
Searching for a new nest.

Trying to make the garden more appealing with these old lanterns scattered about.

The garden is not too bad but needs a bit of a tidy up here and there.

The sweet peas were in danger of being ex-communicated from the garden as they are growing on the pool fence. Everytime I look at them a brand new colour bursts forth!
I can't move them on just yet.

When the majority at home have decided that it's time to move on...well we just have to! Don't you agree?

Hubby is not that convinced, but my 19 year old daughter would like us to buy a penthouse in the CBD!
Not sure about that one!

We moved to the area we are now in for the children's schooling. Now that is all over we can make different choices and to be closer to work would be heaven for me.

Where to from here?
Painting those small bits and pieces that should have been done a long time ago.
Going to the dump!

Do you ever get restless and need to move on? Thinking of selling up and buying somewhere exciting?

Well MMMC I would have to change the name of my blog because I would no longer be Bayside! Ha! Never thought of that one!

Hi Pam..it sounds like you've made a few moves in your time! Maybe city real estate will be even cheaper in the next few months given the uncertainty of the financial situation...then renting out your house may be a good idea until the market stabilises?? Just a thought. Have a great weekend planning your move!

I think its very hard for mum's when their children have flown the nest they have to find their own identity again in a way. And as you say you have more choices available and time. I think you have to do what is right for you and what feels right in your heart. Good luck such a lovely photo of the little feather friend and i feel he was there to help you make your choices ;-)) dee xx

Oh yes indeed I think you have nomadic blood, born to be a traveller I think. I often get the feeling of the need for a change of scenery, but I love where we live now, so am content to open new shops and change the furniture around inside the house...lol.
Sounds like an exciting venture and I think your garden looks wonderful!

Oh Pam... it must be time for a change! .... you sound ready and it will be exciting! It will be handy being closer to work and I know you will find somewhere amazing! Plus you will have such fun setting up somewhere new! The hardest thing will be finishing off jobs and the open homes! It will be so worth it afterwoods.... I am still settling in here... I suppose when I am done it will be time to move! I spent the whole day yesterday sorting my craft room and finally have it tidy.... for now at least!!! Must catch you soon! Don't work too hard! X

My nana reckoned we had gypsy blood in us and I have been a bit of an itinerant in the past.

When we get itchy feet we head to the coast! Camping, boating, fishing, op shoppping, reading, and kicking back being carefree......

that seems to cure our restlessness for a while!

It is good to change and I wish you luck in your search and in selling your home. It is always a little sad to leave, we have moved several times and downsized from a large farmhouse to a city 2 bedroom condo, five years ago. Each year we drove back to see our farm, which is now owned by mennonites and the 500 plus trees we planted, are now pasture for cows, and have disappeared. I have decided to not drive by anymore and just keep my memories.
My best wishes to you as you and the image of the bird is spectacular and speaks loudly of your situation.

Change is in the air...maybe it is the coming of spring for you! I often thought of moving until our economy changed so much, now I am content to work with what I have and call this home.

I LOVE your pictures, Pam...very pretty!

Oh yes! We (my husband and I) often fantasize about where to go and live once the children have done studying here....
Keep us posted about your wanderings OK? I'm really curious about where you'll decide to move to.
Bye,
Marian

Hi Pam! I do know what you mean, I get that same urge every once in a while too. My husband and I have been married for 23 years and we have moved some place new just about every 5 years. This is the longest we have stayed in one house.

I think about it a lot too, but with the economy the way it is now and the housing market in our area, it just wouldn't be practical to move. There are also not a lot of jobs available in other places for my husband's line of work. (mad scientist) :)

I love my home and our life, but I do get a little restless now and then. Sometimes when I get that way I find it helps to learn something new, meet some new people, do something different to spice up my life. Sometimes my restlessness comes from feeling a little trapped because a part of me wants to grow. It's like walking around with shoes on that are too tight! :)

Your garden is really beautiful, I love the sweet peas. We don't have very many flowers this time of year. Fall is beginning and the leaves are starting to dry up. The grass is still green but that will change next month. Usually by mid-October our meadow turns the golden color of wheat, and stays that way until the first hard frost. I hope you have a lovely and restful weekend ahead. Delisa :)

Spring is really in the air now, and your laterns are a lovely addition to the garden.
Am a bit stuck here on the bayside but decided to rearrange the furniture for a fresh perspective on things but now have list of bits needed to complete the new setting.
Good luck with all your plans.
