Using the Old and the New.

I have been using some of these gorgeous vintage English embroidery cottons from my stash for my hearts and pillows. I have just about every colour under the rainbow that I can mix with the new. Most are neatly wrapped around some recycled cardboard, all individually numbered. However, there was only the one colour that was wrapped around a piece of scrunched up paper....now there is a frugal tip for you!

My random cross-stitching on my natural linen heart stuffed full of Lavender Buds.

I am having fun adding Mum's old rhinestones from the 1950's...

...and wading through my collection of vintage buttons

A mixture of old and new in my crafting pursuits these days to make unique and one off items!
Coffee in hand, and pondering my next trip South to an amazing family run lavender farm to gather some muchly needed freshly harvested lavender.

Linking up with Lindy here today.

OOOh they are such sweet little hearts and look very naive on that wonderful linen. I am envious of that amazing stash of threads too. I had a lot once but as I teach home schooled children embroidery twice a month, they have been almost used up. It is nice though to make something from nothing, isn't it?

The cottons look like lovely colours, but I would stick them in a plastic bag and in the freezer for overnight? maybe longer, to make sure their are no moths in them.

Very pretty linen hearts Pam,how interesting,I use my Mum's embroidery threads from the 60's and they are wrapped around pieces of wedding cake board.I like how someone took the time to number each of your threads.
