Retro or Floral?

This is my latest vintage find.
The lady I bought this footstool from told me that it is a 50's number.
 It was $5.00.
Fits perfectly in my lounge as another little footstool.
It has a lovely floral cover...not sure about the fringey thing but it will do for now.

As I was paying for this footstool the lady asked me if I had looked under the cover...well I never would have thought I would have a retro piece as well! For styling purposes I was looking for a piece of retro glass or something, anything to use as a prop with the stool but the Harrods tin was all I could come up with.

I  could have asked Brismod from Fun and VJ's if I could borrow some of her mid century pottery she has been collecting. Katherine from the Old Boat House would have a heap of stuff too.

So...a gorgeous Harrods tin it is..

If my tastes ever change to retro at least I will have a head start with this footstool.
Don't think that is going to happen though.

What's your passion retro or floral?

Well...I love retro and floral mixed together...I don't like the retro sideboards etc that are very 'in' now, too plain for my liking. But I do love retro chrome kitchen stools and chairs and all the cool little retro-styled kitchen accessories.

Love love love Green Gate and Cath Kidston, I suppose they are the perfect mix of retro style and florals to me :)

WOW, that is amazing. I think I know that footstool. It looks very familiar(the retro part). I like the cover, it looks like the rose florals we had in the 70s...
GREAT FIND!
Have a fun week,

Donna

I am loving the fringing personally and how funky that you can choose between pretty-ing or retro-ing it up with this lil stool :)

Pammie,

I love your new photo and blurb.

You know where my leanings lie ... but I admit to prefer the floral! I think the fringing is cute too!

Hi. I love the footstool, both in floral and retro. Lucky you, "two in one". Nice blog you have. I dream of one day to travel to Australia. Hug, Drude

Yeah, I'm more of a floral girl than retro but I love the Harrod's tin. Also love your new profile pic.

Gorgeous roses! Both the lovely pink one - is that from your garden? - and the beautiful fabric, which is very similar (or possibly even the same design) to some tapestry I want to buy to redo my dining chairs.

I wandered over here from Pinterest and want to go have a look around to see all your pretties.

Sorry if I double-posted, Blogger messed me up; told me it was an error, so I re-sent. But if you get two of the same messages from me, please just delete one (and this explanation, as well.)
