Succulents at Home

Saved by succulents at home this morning! Moved things around in the lounge again, as you do, then I was inspired to gather some green from the garden.

Snipped some gorgeous succulents and grabbed an old victorian flow blue gravy jug (Ebay), a blue dutch delft pot (garage sale), an English Johnson jug (market) and an Italian terracotta jug (market) and they were perfect for a display of jade and other succulents ( I say other succulents because I don't know the names for the others:).

I grouped them all together and I really love the way they look. At home, I always use vintage jugs and other pieces of china in lieu of the traditional type of vases. I find I can stuff more flowers in a jug because of the generous tops of the jugs. Love them!

I am linking with Anna from Cornflake for her Thrifty Tuesday Finds.

What do you display your flowers or foliage in?

I love the way the blues and the greens complement one another.

Definitely like using jugs, teacups even old vintage tins and bottles as vases - although I seem to have amassed an inordinate number of vases this year!

Hope you're having a great day. xx

The beauty of displaying cut succulents is that they don't need water in the container, and then you can plant them when they grow roots - how great is that?

It was great to see your succulents in the fabulous blue and white jugs and yes the generous tops are good.
Many thanks for visiting me and I hope that you are having a great Wednesday

Love your flower containers Pam.
I use all sorts of things also.
A favourite of mine for a tussie mussie type bunch is a big old silver teapot I've got. It always makes me smile!

I adore succulents - I think it also has something to do with the fact that I cannot kill them! I love to display my flowers and lots of Mother in Laws Tongue in old jars/vases and medicine bottles. Michelle

Hi Pam,
Yes jugs, teapots etc always look good with flowers. I love your idea of using succulants as they look so fresh and you get so many different shades of green.
