At the Beach...

For the past five days we have been anchored out at the Sand Hills at the southern end of Moreton Island.  An amazing sand island on our doorstep, accessible by boat and passenger and vehicle barges.
Pristine white sand and clear waters. Need I go on? I will let these images tell the story of what we found this week.

Yep! We walked up these dunes and over to the surfside.

When the tide goes out at this anchorage there is a vast sandbank area to explore...

Plenty of starfish...

Massive armys of blue soldier crabs appear and march in unison with each other. Honestly, it is so quiet here that you can actually hear them moving.

Sunsets are so much better on the water and last night's did not disappoint.

Going...

Still going...

nearly gone...

gone...

Looks gorgeous! Funny because I just walked past the pony club yesterday and they were advertising Moreton Island on a billboard and I was thinking how nice it would be to go. It's been about 20 years since I've been. I don't like travelling long distances when we have so much beauty around us. x

Amazing!! They are the most fantastic photos.

Kade was very interested in the blue soldier crab and the starfish (he was reading over my shoulder) and was wanting to see more, he misses going to the beach.

Did you have fun grocery shopping??? Have a great week, Tam

Oh Pam, that is absolutely heavenly.

I think I'd give up my dislike of boats for what you've just experienced!

Just beautiful photos! And that sunset! Thank you.

Beautiful, really beautiful. I am glad that you included telling us that it was so quiet there that you could actually hear the blue soldier crabs moving. That, coupled with your gorgeous photos, transported me completely. Carolina

Hi Pam..The whiteness of the sand is incredible...and the pics of the starfish and crab are amazing. Aren't they beautiful in their own environments! Just the experience you need to refresh and recharge you for the coming weeks.
