Rosie Posies

Some of my lovely British friends from overseas are visiting Brisbane right now.  Lunch at my place was on the agenda today.
How to set the table?
No question really!
Plenty of rosey posies with my eclectic mix of vintage china.
I knew what I wanted so I began to play around with some cottagey settings for the table using my vintage china bits and pieces and delicate tiny roses from the markets this morning.

Then I had an unexpected visitor.
A sweet little butterfly that managed a very short stay. I am so glad my camera was already in position because usually I miss these curious little creatures. They flit around soooo fast. He was certainly the good omen for the day.

Lovely company, fab food and champers and stunning weather on a Sunday..and now I have lovely posies of roses to enjoy all week

Happy week ahead!

A picnic today.

Heading off to a picnic today with friends. Just thought I would show you the foodie side of my homemade baking for this little gathering. A vegetarian quiche,  sausage rolls with sage and onion, mini banana breads. Glorious pineapple from the Glasshouse Mountains adorned with home gown mint will also feature on the menu.

The pineapple was dripping with juice and looking so fab that I sorta got carried away with the photos.  Gotta go..........What are you doing today?

Special Times.

My son came to visit on Saturday. We spent some lovely fun time together, hubby was away so it was just us.  We turned the TV on in the evening and an old family favourite movie came on... Mrs Doubtfire, starring Robin Williams and Sally Field.

I could not believe that my 23 year old son was home with his mum on a Saturday night watching Mrs Doubtfire.....We loved it all over again!...and did we laugh! Special times!

I was also snipping and gluing scraps of lovely linen, lace and a CK rosali fabric onto polystyrene eggs at the same time.  Multi tasking - that's what we are good at...right?

Destined to be part of my table decoration this weekend, these egg shapes were so quick and very easy to decorate. Something different and didn't cost a fortune using what I already had.

Enjoy your Easter break with your families. I know I am most definately going to enjoy mine! Pam x

Vintage Finds, Flowers and Strawberries

I picked up a gorgeous vintage eiderdown in perfect condition at a local garage sale this weekend. Nothing like snuggling up in them on those cool winter nights.

Then it was off to the Antique Centre where I just fell in love with this 1950's Du Barry silver service with Bakelite handles and knobs. Looks like it hasn't been used at all. A lovely little addition to the 'silver collection'

Lillies and roses from the market for me today.

Then I thought about these...I will explain.....I have been drooling inspired by stunning facebook images of strawberries covered in yogurt. Mmmmmm. I thought I would try some myself and they are so delicious and very easy. Just dip strawberries into yogurt and put them in the freezer. I put mine on a plate covered with alfoil so they would be easy to remove. Sure enough they have been eaten, and removed very easily from the freezer! Something different and very Yum!!

I have been working fabric covered eggs this week using natural linen, lace and and floral fabrics. I will show you through the week.

Have a happy one.
